Mission Preparation Oct 2016 until Present April 21st 2017

Hi Everyone, Since October 2016 when we decided to serve a full time mission, so much has happened.  We saw our Bishop to begin the mission application, within a week, completed out medical info and appointments.  Then lined up another Bishop's interview and an interview to see the stake President, after that, our application was submitted to SLC church headquarters.

December 1st 2016 we received our mission call to The Marshall Island Majuro Mission.  We were both very excited about it.  Our specific assignment read: Sister Belen Mission Nurse Specialist and Elder Belen: Mission Office Specialist.  We will be serving in both assignments together.  The Mission President contacted us and wants us to serve in Tarawa Kiribati which is part of the Marshall Islands Mission.

I have had a certain points of this process cold feet, not wanting to sell our house and leave the comfort of our familiar surroundings.  I usually can pray the cold feet away thankfully with Heavenly Father's encouragement and of those around me.

We are almost there.  We have sold our house and it closes April 28th, next Friday.  We have a storage unit for our furniture etc.  We are only both 53 and will both need to find jobs again when we return and start over.  We decided to serve now, one because Eric felt so impressed by the Holy Ghost too and to serve when we are both still fit and healthy.

I have a very strong testimony of Jesus Christ and His church on this earth: The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.   I know this work is true, and know that Jesus Christ atoned for each one of us it we chose to follow Him.  I am thankful for this opportunity.   We will be set apart for our mission May 4th, will update then.
